Integrated Marketing Communications
What is IMC ?
Calling all creative minds! Are you interested in advertising, graphic design, video production, publishing, or anything in between? If so, our Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) major has it all. As an IMC student, you will have the opportunity to learn cutting-edge, interdisciplinary, hands-on skills from a group of highly-trained professors with decades of professional experience. You will learn every aspect of communications, as well as creating multimedia campaigns with the most advanced software programs and equipment. By the time you complete the program, you will have developed a professional multimedia portfolio that you will use to secure a career in fields ranging from public relations to journalism to marketing and media planning.
The Undergraduate Programs
Traditional Track
The IMC Full-Time degree combines classroom learning with real-world marketing communications experiences and domestic and global travel opportunities.
Graphic Design Track
The fast pace of today’s digital landscape has opened doors for marketing and advertising like never before.
Sports Communications Track
The IMC Sports Communication Track allows you to merge your passion for sports with our Traditional IMC Track.
The Graduate Program
The MA in IMC at UWA incorporates aspects of hands-on learning with research and management principles. Students will develop the necessary skills for management-level careers in a number of industries including public relations, marketing, philanthropy, advertising, tourism, social media, graphic design, and multimedia production.

IMC 3 Competition
Each year, the IMC Capstone host the IMC3 scholarship conference for high schoolers for free. More info to follow.
Studio 96
Studio 96 gives students extensive hands-on experience and learning producers, audio and video equipment technicians, sound engineering technicians, camera operators, and film and video editors.
Southeast Journalism Conference
Since the IMC’s initiation in 2012, the program has continued to rank highly among other collegiate communications programs in the southeast. Our students have placed in multiple categories at the annual Southeast Journalism Conference, including:
- 1st place public relations
- 1st place multimedia journalism
- 1st place magazine layout
- 2nd place TV news program
- 2nd place TV news reporting
- 3rd place TV anchoring
- 2nd place advertising design
- 2nd place public service journalism
Marketing Club
The UWA Marketing Club takes an annual trip with a group of eligible students and faculty to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Students participate in a private Hospitality Disney-Style Training Seminar.
